Care2.com's Race for the Oceans is a unique, philanthropic online effort that allows visitors to save oceans with a simple point and click. Supported by the generosity of advertising sponsors, each click of the "Free Click to Help" button generates a donation to the Oceana's ocean protection programs.
Being a Sponsor for Race for the Oceans means:
1. Excellent reach and visibility at low cost.
- Sponsor button click-through rates average 1%, well above the industry average of less than 0.5%.
- Sponsors appear on the Race page in a highly visible location.
- Sponsors benefit from the publicity surrounding the Races, like the Race for the Rain Forest, which was named a USA Today "Hot Site" and featured on CNET's TV.com.
- Cost of sponsorship is $2 per 1,000 unique visitors per day. The minimum contribution is $1000.
- To donate less than $1000, click here to give directly to Oceana.
2. A donation to a good cause.
- 80% of all life on earth is found under the ocean surface.
- The oceans provide the biggest source of wild or
domestic protein in the world. Each year some 70 to 75
million tons of fish are caught in the ocean.
- Algae, the first plants on earth, developed in the sea 3.5
million years ago and give off oxygen as they produce
food, as other plants do. Today, algae produce over half
of the oxygen that we breathe.
3. Generating tremendous goodwill among potential customers.
